How It All Got Started

Hey guys how’s it going? My name is Jackson Spencer, I know, its spelled “Jaxon” on here but I also go by Jax. Anyways, I know you are wondering why you should read my blog. Well to tell you the truth I don’t know why either.
To tell you exactly what this blog is about, I’ll have to tell you how it all got started. My friend Dustin discovered this amazing restaurant long before we were ever acquainted. He would order take out and enjoy its authentic Chinese flavor. It wasn’t until his junior year in high school that he stumbled upon a dish so delightful it made the devil weep. This dish was none other than General Tso’s Chicken. Now I know what you are thinking and the answer is no. This blog is not about how awesome General Tso is. I only mentioned it is because this menu item is the only reason that my friends and I started eating there every Friday for lunch. We started going about a year ago and have been getting the same thing every week; General Tsos Chicken.
The restaurant offers 37 items on their lunch menu and we never ventured to try something different. One Friday I picked up the menu and gave it a good looking over. There were so many different things to choose from but it didn’t give any description of the food. I thought two things; why haven’t we tried other dishes and how does anybody know what to order? So that day I decided to answer both of my questions. I was going to start at the first item and work my way down to the last just to try something different and find out what ingredients were in it. After receiving my food, we all tried it and discussed the components, texture, and taste. We thought why not keep track of my meals and write a brief description about them so we can go back and look them up. But why keep it to ourselves? That is when we decided to let the world know and with a little help from my friends, I started this blog.
Why are you reading my blog? It’s simple, you are reading my blog so you can follow my 37 week challenge and read about the crazy adventures my friends and I encounter (Okay the adventures won’t be that exciting but at least you can get a little information about the food). Each week I will post a new menu item and my opinion. Follow along and explore the variety you can get at an authentic Chinese restaurant. I just might be eating your pet! Each item comes with fried rice or white rice and it cost $4.50 plus tax. If you care to try it out for yourself, the name of the restaurant is Dragon City and it is located on the corner of Main St. and Huntington in downtown Jonesboro, Ar. As a reminder, take into consideration that I am no professional. It will be one average guy’s opinion of food to another so take it or leave it. Bon appetite folks!
